SUP YOGA

WHAT IS SUP YOGA?

Simply put, SUP yoga (stand-up paddleboard yoga) is practicing yoga on a stand-up paddleboard out on the water. SUP yoga is a great way to change up your yoga practice and enhance your yoga skills because it requires more strength, balance, and focus. We welcome beginners and experienced paddleboarders and yogis alike for this awesome class that will help you build strength and balance while having fun out on the water!

WHAT  TO EXPECT?

Expect to have fun and enjoy time out on the water! — You don’t need to be an expert yogi or an expert paddler. All experience levels are welcome. Unless you plan to bring your own equipment, your class will include a paddleboard, paddle, and (PFD). If it's your first time there's a decent chance you'll get wet, so make sure you wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet. Wear plenty of sunscreen. Bring a hat. If you wear sunglasses, please be aware that there is a potential for them to fall into the pond. Bring a towel, flip-flops, water, and refreshing snacks to enjoy after class!

How long is the class? — Class is 60 minutes, but block 1.5 hours to give yourself time to arrive and park, and time to chat before and after class. Arriving 15 minutes before class starts will help ensure that we get to enjoy the most time on the water!

Are restrooms available? — We do not have restrooms available at the pond, so please be sure to use the restroom prior to class.

Personal Items — No personal items, such as cell phones, will be brought to class. Leave all personal belongings secured in your car*. Enjoy your connection to the water! Photos of your class will be taken and shared with you after class. *Please note that Healing Grounds studio is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items while on the water or left in vehicles.

What if it rains? — In the event of inclement weather, you will be contacted at least one hour before class to notify you of any cancellation. If it’s just gray, the class will continue. If there’s thunder and lightning, it’s a no-go. High winds also cause cancellations. In the event that class is canceled, your class will stay on your account to use for a future Saturday.

Where is the pond located? — The pond is located on the north side of HWY 50 directly across from the studio. Look for the gravel driveway north of the Healing Grounds studio and HWY 50. Follow the long gravel driveway straight back until you see the pond and bright green paddleboards. The pond will be on your left side. Please park along the side of the gravel driveway.
